BRM Aero

H55 first EPS 100 kW customer application is the Bristell B23 Energic, a 2-seater electric trainer designed for flight schools and pilot training. Responding to the market demand for a 850KG CS 23 certified aircraft which can take a pilot through most of the PPL training syllabus, the B23 Energic will be commercially available in 2024.

BRM is a Czech aircraft manufacturer established in 2009. With 5 models available, BRM produces more than 100 aircrafts yearly. BRM AERO’s priority is its emphasis on innovation, continuously introducing new developments to its product line. With the B23 Energic, BRM positions itself as a pioneer of the next aviation revolution.

Harbour Air

H55 has been selected by Harbour air to provide the energy storage system for the first commercial electric version of the Beaver commuter seaplane. H55 lightweight battery modules will be part of an electric propulsion system whereby the US based magniX will be providing the motor. Once the 1st prototype is certified, Harbour Air plans to first retrofit their entire fleet and then offer the possibility to other Beaver owners the possibility to convert their aircraft to electric.

Harbour Air, North America's largest seaplane airline —and the first to be fully carbon-neutral offers flight services around the island of Vancouver, BC, Canada. With short flights, no longer than 30-45 min, their airline service is the perfect application for electric aircrafts and becoming the first airline operating electric airplanes.

DEVELOPING AN HYBRID-ELECTRIC FLIGHT DEMONSTRATOR

Pratt & Whitney Canada

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has selected H55 to provide the battery pack for the company’s regional hybrid-electric flight demonstrator program. The program is supported by the Government of Quebec and Canada towards developing sustainable propulsion technology. Collins Aerospace and De Havilland Aircraft of Canada are key technology collaborators in the demonstrator project. The National Research Council Canada (NRC) and the Innovative Vehicle Institute (IVI) are also supporting the development of some of the component designs and electrical control systems for the project. A 30% improvement in fuel efficiency and commensurate reduction in CO2 emissions is targeted, compared to today’s most advanced turboprop engines for regional aircraft. Ground testing of the propulsion technology will already start this year, with a planned flight demonstration in 2024.
