Electric propulsion is allowing the development of new urban air transport solutions such as Flying Taxis or VTOLs. More than one hundred projects around the world are aiming to provide aircrafts that are able to take off and land vertically, transporting 4-8 passengers across cities.

These new air mobility solutions will be potentially clean and quiet and can be realized with existing technologies. The biggest challenge is not building and flying a prototype, but rather its certification. The gap between a preliminary and certified aircraft is considerable and that’s where H55 brings its expertise, experience and solutions.

Legacy and Technological Spinoff of Solar Impulse

Solar Impulse believes in the power of symbols. As pioneers in electric aviation using solar energy with no fuel nor polluting emissions, Solar Impulse demonstrated the enormous potential of clean technologies for energy savings and renewable energy production.

Co-founded by André Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard, the project was both scientific and innovative. Solar Impulse’s mission was to raise society’s awareness of the need to be sparing with the planet’s energy resources which includes the adoption of clean and energy efficient technologies.
