Technical Project Manager

LONG TERM CONTRACT

H55’s mission is to make air transport, quiet, safe, clean and affordable. The company’s patented and certified electric propulsion and energy technology solutions is transforming propulsion for both existing aircraft types and emerging VTOL and e-Commuters.

A Swiss company created in 2017 by the leadership team of Solar Impulse, André Borschberg, Sebastien Demont, and Gregory Blatt, H55 has accumulated design, development, certification, and electric flight experience. Its proven track record comes from developing 2 Solar Impulse airplanes, the only electric airplane with unlimited endurance, the Twister Aero1 acrobatic aircraft, and the Bristell Energic.

As illustrated through its 15-year legacy of electric flight experience, H55 is a recognized and reliable enabler in electric aviation. With its first customer application, the BRM Aero Bristell Energic, a 2-seater pilot trainer that is rapidly approaching certification, H55’s game-changing technology is quickly moving the company to the forefront of the next aviation revolution.

At H55, you will work with a very forward-looking team who are changing the paradigms of air transportation. H55 is composed of highly experienced engineers, entrepreneurs and managers and is seeking like mind talented professionals who understand how to combine creativity and innovation with technical and business considerations.

Your Role

You will be managing the development of engineering team priorities, cost and schedule (milestones) on project level.

You will report initially to the Project Management Office.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining the required engineering resources of appropriate skills and disciplines for his/her project in coordination with the Team Leader
  • Defining deliverables to be created and their priority
  • Technical decisions on project level.
  • Requirements management (definition, review and validation).
  • Configuration management on project level.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a project manager in automotive, aeronautics or similar industry.

Specifically, this includes:

  • University degree (min. bachelor) in a relevant engineering discipline (System engineering, Aerospace engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems).
  • Broad knowledge of other engineering disciplines, HW/SW development, mechanical engineering to assess/coordinate the product development cycle on a high level.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise as project manager typically 4+ years, bringing projects so completion.
  • Good understanding of certification and production methods and standards in highly regulated environment.
  • Management skills, resources and budget.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in highly fast changing environment. This requires:

  • Strategic and tactical capabilities needed to be a driver and agent of change
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • An outstanding hands-on leader with no ego, with common sense, recognized managerial skills and a commitment to organizational efficiency and team building
  • Demonstrated success in working as a team player, capable of interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and skill sets
  • Fluent in English (written and oral), French and German are an additional advantage.
